Obituary of Jack Burton

Jack Rodney Burton, age 54 of Pearland, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 5, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Ilene (Head) Burton; and stepmother, Joanna Burton. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sandy; sons, Chad Burton & his wife Emilie, Ronnie Patke & his wife Stacie, and Donnie Patke & his wife Patty; daughter Laurie Miller & her husband Derrick; brothers, Ernie Burton & his wife Melba and Jay Burton & his wife Aletta; grandchildren, Autumn Burton, Austin Burton, Peyton Miller, and Tatum Patke; and a host of many other family & friends. Jack was born on September 30, 1955 in Houston, Texas and resided in Pearland since 1988. He was a mechanic since he was 17 years old and spent his entire life working on cars. His pride and joy was a 1966 Mustang. Jack had a big heart and enjoyed helping everyone. He taught Laurie and Donnie how to drive and helped young kids how to keep their cars going. He loved spending time with his family, barbequing ribs for them or having parties and every year, would host a Superbowl celebration. Jack will always be remembered for his low key and patient nature and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation for Jack will be on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, 10:00 am, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-7833. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland.
