Marlin Dee Thornton February 06, 1956 - May 05, 2016 Marlin (Bubba) Dee Thornton, 60, of Willis, passed away May 5, 2016 in Willis, Texas. Visitation will be held at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena on May 11, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. with Victor Archie officiating. Bubba was born in Houston to Jesse and Nancy Estelle Thornton, II on February 6, 2016. He went to high school in La Porte, and earned a Welding certificate. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend. Bubba worked with his dad and brother in the painting business. He enjoyed fishing, and everything about Christmas (decorating the Christmas tree, buying Christmas gifts, and wrapping them), and spending time with his family and close friends. He was the crew chief on his dad’s drag racing team. Bubba is preceded in death by his dad, Jesse Fronzo Thornton, II; his mom, Nancy Estelle Thornton, his sister, Etta Faye Drabing; great niece, Dallis Marie Thornton. Bubba is survived by his brother, Jesse F. Thornton, III (wife Linda); aunt, Ann Bryant Hicks, nephews Chad W. McGuire (wife Tammy), Christopher M. Thornton (wife Jenny), Cary R. Thornton (wife Jacqueline), nieces Crystal Mayer (husband Sam), Jessica Willingham and great-nephews and -nieces Derek McGuire, Madison McGuire, Christopher Chance Thornton, Corbyn Thornton, Dagney Pawlewicz , Jax Pawlewicz, Dane Thornton, Cole Thornton, Cruz Thornton, Carlo Thornton, Samantha Mayer, Autumn (and baby brother) Willingham; great great niece Blakeleigh McGuire; and cousins Kathy Stephens and Michael Hicks. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice Plus+ for their support in Bubba’s final days, to his Primary Care and Nephrologist doctors, all of his Davita Dialysis nurses and friends, and to his close friends, Roy and Emelda Ochoa, Roy Barnett and Lori Brandes, Chris and Ann Hartley, Sammy, Angie, Melissa, and Christian Ball, Shelly Bryant, Crystal Cain and Ron Canales, Harry Halstead, Sharon and Norman, Bobby and Robin del Monaco, Christene Pavelec, Robert Jablonski, Golden Wu, Randy Jensen, Victor, Lisa, Victoria, and Arnez Archie, and Bubba’s “girlfriend,” Doris Hambrick.
