Kenneth Raymond Van Zandt February 24, 1924 - February 20, 2012 Kenneth Ray Van Zandt, 87, passed away on Monday, February 20th, 2012 at the VA Hospital, Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be at the Paul U. Lee Funeral Home, La Porte, Texas at 11:00 AM Saturday February 25th; visitation will be at 10:00 AM. Kenneth was born February 24th, 1924 in Zephyr, Texas and was a 27 year Air Force Veteran seeing combat action in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam, a B24 navigator in WW II and as a pilot in Korea and Vietnam. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and May Van Zandt, sisters Barbara Williams and Wanda Smith, son Mark B. Van Zandt, wife Esta V. Van Zandt, and grandson David P. Van Zandt. He is survived by a sister Lanelle and husband Larry Maner, son Dr. Scott Van Zandt, daughter in law Patti Van Zandt, grandchildren Matthew, Julie, and Robin Van Zandt, and brother in law Bill Williams nieces and nephews Brenda and Joe Pechacek, Pamela and Mike Strawn, Gary and Jennifer Williams, Kathy and Randy Thomas, and Karen and Jerry Juarez. Kenneth resided in La Porte, Texas and attended the Church of Christ. The family would like to acknowledge the VA nurses, staff, and doctors involved in his care.
