Obituary of Robert Julian Boyd

Robert Julian Boyd January 17, 1951 - December 23, 2012 Robert Julian Boyd, 61, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on December 23, 2012 in Houston. He was born in Fort Monroe, Virginia on January 17, 1951 to Robert B. Boyd Jr. and Julia Poston Boyd. He was preceded in death by his mother and his sister Sharon Boyd Trader. Robert is survived by his wife of 33 yrs, Holly Chaddock Boyd, his son Robert Justin Boyd of Pasadena, and his father Robert B. Boyd, Jr. of La Porte, his aunt Jean Rae Simmons of Virginia Beach, along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Don and Sharon Hill of La Porte and Don and Debbie Chaddock of New Brunswick. Robert is also survived by many other family members whom he cherished. Robert graduated from La Porte High School then attended Texas A&M University prior to serving in the U.S. Army. He received his nursing degree from San Jacinto College in 1978 and worked as an emergency room RN for 25 years prior to spending the last years of his career as an IT consultant for multiple hospitals around the country. Robert was an avid photographer, enjoyed computers, reading and travel. Visitation will be on Friday December 28, 2012 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM with the funeral service following at 2:00PM; both will take place at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home in La Porte. Burial will be at the La Porte Cemetery. The family would like to thank the excellent nurses and doctors of Memorial Hermann Hospital’s MICU and are especially grateful for the care and support from his personal physicians John Burpeau, MD and Bruce Levy, MD. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emergency Nurses Association Foundation to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing or the National Kidney Foundation.
