Obituary of Paul Pearce

Paul Pearce, age 91 of Pearland, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel & Myrtle (Ratteree) Pearce; wife, Florine (McCoy) Pearce; son, Paul Pearce Jr.; and brothers, Sam Pearce, Mack Pearce, & Jack Pearce. He is survived by his son, Johnny Pearce & his wife Joyce; and grandchildren, Paul Jason Pearce, John Pearce, Jane-Anne Pearce, & Amy Pearce.
Paul was born on May 17, 1919 in El Dorado, Kansas and resided in the Houston area for more than seventy years. He earned his BBA as a Certified Public Accountant from the University of Texas and worked as an Auditor for Exxon Corporation for 38 years. He was a member of both the Texas State Society of CPA’s and the Institute of Internal Auditors. Paul and Florine were married for 60 years. During his lifetime, he was an avid reader, enjoyed carpentry and helped Johnny with the bookkeeping for his locksmith business. He would sometimes dabble with legal work while auditing and often volunteered at the Houston Food Bank. Paul was blessed to enjoy good health for most his life and even drove his car until he was eighty-nine years old. He came from humble beginnings but achieved much success in his life by helping others and living a strong faith. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Paul will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 12:00 noon followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel. Kevin Naillieux, Joyce Lawrence, and Hannah Bassham will be officiating. Interment is at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
