She was born on March 21, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Maurine and J.C. Bowen. Preceding her in death are her parents, Maurine and J.C. Bowen; infant brother, John Bowen; great-niece, Kayla Williams; and precious daughter, Karen Smith. Survived by her husband of fifty years, Felix Williams; son, Bryan Williams and wife, Stacy; grand-children, Shannon Garza and husband Robert, Christopher Fuller and wife Brittany, Ryan Fuller, Kali and Madison Williams; sisters, Pam Williams and husband Paul, Toni Varnell and husband Eddie; sisters-in-law, Wanda Phillips and Donna Clouse; nieces and nephews James Williams and wife Michelle, Dotti Varnell, Stephanie Sanders and husband Josh, Kimberly Guerra and husband Jacob, Leslie Pierce, Melissa Clouse, Noah Clouse, and Anthony Clouse; 19 great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great nephews, as well as a multitude of extended family members and friends. After graduating from Pasadena High School in 1965, she resided in Pasadena with her parents until marrying the love of her life, Felix Williams, on October 14th, 1967 at Sunset Methodist Church. As the wife of an enlisted Marine, they continued their journey in North Carolina where Felix was stationed in 1968. They welcomed their first child, Bryan Williams on March 4, 1969. They returned home to Pasadena in 1971, and in the following year, their family was completed with the arrival of their baby girl, Karen. Linda happily cared for her family as a stay-at-home wife and mother until the early 80’s until she became employed at Golden Acres Baptist Church, where she was also a member. Ten or so years later, she served First Baptist Church of Pasadena as the church secretary. In the late 90’s, Linda served on staff for the congregation of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she later retired. She continued her work in Pasadena ISD at Laura Bush Elementary as a paraprofessional until she stepped down to be caregiver for her daughter, Karen. While caring for her daughter, she also served her church of eleven years, First Baptist Church of LaPorte, in the children’s ministry in various roles until she went to be with Jesus on Monday. Linda was many things to many people because she always put others’ needs before her own. Family and friends could always count on Linda’s wisdom and continuous support. She was known as the Matriarch of her family and was loved and cherished by everyone who crossed her path. Linda loved spending her time cheering on her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews at sporting events along with her soulmate and husband, Felix, travelling with family and friends, shopping, reading, and just chatting with loved ones around the kitchen table. The world was definitely made a better place because of Linda’s influence. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but trust in God’s promise that they will soon see her again.
