Louise Albertson Zoller July 06, 1931 - June 24, 2008 Louise Albertson Zoller, 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 after a long battle with several ailments. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Zoller and is survived by a husband, James Zoller; a daughter, Susan Hemphill and husband, Mason Hemphill of Reinholds, PA; a son, Joseph and wife Therese of Santa Fe, TX; five grandchildren, Melissa Zoller, Raymond Zoller, Elizabeth Cornwell and Sean Fuller of Santa Fe, TX and Kyle Hemphill of Reinholds, PA; and a sisters-in-law, Barbara Albertson of Richmond, VA and Geraldine “Chickie” Zoller of Milford, OH. Louise was born in Salem, IN on July 6, 1931, one of five (5) children of Joseph Albertson and Maude (Stuckey) Albertson. Her husband, Jim Zoller, and she met in 1953 in Hammond, IN. where Louise was teaching kindergarten after graduating from the University of Indiana and Jim was working at DuPont’s plant in East Chicago, IN. Louise and Jim were married in Salem, IN on June 11, 1955 in an old Quaker church on a country road nestled in the hills of Southern, IN. They had a long and happy marriage featured by the birth of three (3) children and living in Antioch, CA, East Chicago and 19-years in La Porte, TX where Jim retired from DuPont in 1987. Before and after Jim’s retirement, they enjoyed traveling around the world, including a 5-month stay in Spain where Jim was employed temporarily by DuPont after retirement. Louise was the quintessential club woman in La Porte, having been a member of the La Porte Bayshore Garden Club, The Ladies Reading Club, The Atheneum Study Club, and the Houston Council of Texas Garden Clubs. She held several offices in these organizations, including the presidency of her first love, the La Porte Bayshore Garden Club. The family will receive friends at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home, 201 S. 3rd St., La Porte from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 26. Funeral services will be held at Golden Acres United Methodist Church, 2838 Lily, Pasadena at noon Friday, June 27.
