Obituary of Bobby Earl Hopper

Bobby Earl Hopper, age 72 and Pearland area resident, passed away on January 21, 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Myrtle (Weaver) Hopper; sisters, Dorothy Guinn and Lois Toll; and brothers, Earl Hopper Jr., and James Hopper. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice (Garza) Hopper; his son, Bobby Earl Hopper Jr. and his wife Robin; daughters, Peggy Churchman and her husband Fred, Gina Blanchard and her husband Robert, Marsha Bratton and her husband Brian, and Allyson Hopper; brothers, Henry Hopper and his wife Martha and Dan Hopper and his wife Sheryl; sister, Ellen Galloway; nine grandchildren, Dafne Wiswell, Adrianne Trout, Freda Churchman, David Bratton, Bobby Hopper III, Adam Blanchard, Michael Bratton, Andrea Blanchard, and Ethan Hopper; and seven great-grandchildren, Grant Wiswell, Bryce Hollingsworth, Grace Wiswell, Faith Trout, Reece Wiswell, Wyatt Trout, and Loreli Trout. Bobby loved his family and their home was always the place for gatherings. He had many hobbies including fishing and music, especially playing his trombone. Spending time with his family was one his greatest joys. Bobby had a great sense of humor and was always pulling practical jokes on family and friends. He was a man of great faith with a kind and giving heart. Bobby was a fabricator and designer of steel work in the oil field industry. He worked very hard and was a “problem solver” when it came to steel work. His wonderful light will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Bobby will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Clayton Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-2421. Rev. Wayne Wilkerson and Rev. Ed Wade will be officiating. Interment immediately follows at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Frwy, Webster, Texas, 77598, 281-332-3111.
