Obituary of Jose Godoy Vital

Jose Godoy, 86, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnulfo and Vicenta Godoy.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Dora Godoy; daughters, Dora Martinez and wife, Rafael, Maria Luisa Godoy; six brothers, four sisters; grandchildren, Brenda, Yareli, Rafael, Ronaldo, Raul, and Marcelo; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Jose and his family were some of the original founders of Valle Hermosa.  They worked very hard for many years in the agricultural business.  In Mexico, Jose was an excellent baseball player and played for more than 10 years.  He was an excellent provider for his family, a loving and devoted husband that cherished spending time with his family at gatherings.  Jose loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and BBQs.  He was affectionately known as “Negrito” by his grandchildren and was extremely proud of them.  Jose was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

Services for Jose will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation and rosary will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm with the rosary recited at 6:00 pm.  The funeral service will take place Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow the services at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.
