Obituary of Kenneth J Dutile
Kenneth J. Dutile, 78 of New Iberia, Louisiana passed away at his home in Pearland Texas on Saturday January 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family after a yearlong battle with Cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Enez Dutile and brother, Mitchel Dutile. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet Calder Dutile, and their four children. Daughter Deborah Foreman and husband Jesse, their children Erynn Kalisek and Husband Nick, Mylissa and Jessica. Daughter Karen Kopenhafer and husband Mark, their children Andrew and Garrett. Son David Dutile and wife Tina. Daughter Jill Goolsby and husband Kent. He is also survived by his sister Dolores Andre and brother Russell Dutile.
Kenneth was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on January 16, 1941. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Navigator and Electronics Technician on S2 Tracker Aircraft completing deployments onboard the USS Intrepid (CV-11) USS Essex (CV 9) and USS Enterprise (CVN-59).
Kenneth worked in telecommunications at AT&T for more than 30 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family. He served as an usher and taught Confirmation and Marriage Counseling classes with his wife Janet at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Iberia, La. Kenneth was a member of American Legion Post 365 in New Iberia, La and Post 236 in Pearland, Texas where he was a member of the Honor Guard.
In 2011, Kenneth and Janet relocated to Pearland, Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Nadya Hasham-Jiwa and Dr. Curtis Jackson Wray, for their care and treatment of Kenneth and Hospice Plus of Bellaire, Texas for their support and assistance over the past few weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd, Pearland, TX 77581. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church, Pearland Texas on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10:00 am with Father Jim Courville officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
