Eugenia was born in Moulton, Texas on September 8, 1931 to Edward and Julie (Pelech) Wenske. There, she attended the Komensky School, participating on the volleyball and basketball teams. After high school, she moved to Houston, where she met her husband, Wilburn, at a dance. She loved music and dancing, and she and Wilburn spent many years dancing with family and friends. Eugenia was an excellent cook and baker, especially known for her pies and cakes. As an accomplished seamstress, she sewed all her daughter's clothes, even sewing for friends. Her interest in fashion led her to a 27-year career with Joske’s Department Store and Dillard’s as a Sales Associate, always being named top Sales Associate. She was strong in her faith as a long-time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and for the last 26 years as a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. Eugenia was an active member and officer of the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 50 years. Family and friends were extremely important to her, as she always made an effort to be involved in her daughter’s school and Girl Scout activities. Once Eugenia set her mind to become active in any endeavor, she was determined to see it through and strive for its success. Besides her four daughters, her greatest pleasure and the light of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren, each special in their own way. She tirelessly invested time and effort to maintain lifelong friendships she held dear. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
