Obituary of Jose A Gonzalez

Jose A. Gonzalez, age 87 of Pearland, passed away on August 8, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albino Gonzalez and Maria Refugio Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Consuelo Gonzalez; his sons, Arnolfo Gonzalez, Estaban Carlos Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jr., George Gonzalez, Javier Gonzalez, Efrain Gonzalez, Jamie Gonzalez; daughters, Anita Ramirez, Connie Seda, and Armendina Gonzalez; twenty six grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. Jose and Consuelo were married for 57 wonderful years. Jose enjoyed being a cowboy and ranching for most of his life. He worked on Senator Lloyd Benson’s ranch for many years. He was known to all of his friends and family as “Chon.” Jose was affectionately called “Papa Chon” by his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. He considered his sons and daughters as his best friends. Chon was the patriarch and the “Rock” for his family to lean on. Everyone gravitated to Jose and Consuelo’s home to spend time together. He was a big Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a wonderful example to all of his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The visitation will take place on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel from 6pm to 8pm with the Rosary beginning at 7pm with Deacon Cruz Trujillo presiding. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church at 11am, 2209 Old Alvin Rd. Pearland, TX 77581 with Rev. Carl James Courville officiating.
