Obituary of Billie Marie May
Billie Marie May, 81, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Lokey and Gladys Phillips. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Clint May and wife, Terri; Chris May and wife, Christine; sister, Beth Sublette and husband Art; grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Amanda, and Ashlyn; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Billie enjoyed cooking and was more than good at it. She spent her time watching the Astros and reading mystery novels. She and her friend Barbara would record and watch daytime soap operas, just to be able to call each other on the phone and talk about what happened, and what might happen the next day. Billie liked window shopping and visiting with her friends over a pot of coffee. She would catch up with her Sunday School friends whenever she could, and never missed the chance to be with the ones she was close to. More than anything, Billie loved her sons, along with all their friends, and most recently, her grandchildren. She was a single mother who was passionate about being a pediatric nurse and worked very hard for many years to support and raise her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Billie will take place at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571, on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
