Obituary of Damaris Cortina Sanchez

Damaris Cortina Sanchez, 76, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Gila Cortina; her loving husband of 43 years, Pablo Sanchez; four brothers and three sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Pablo Sanchez Jr. and wife, Dalia, Hugo Sanchez and wife, Chelsea; daughters, Diana Pacheco and husband, Edgar, Dina Sanchez and husband, Esteban; brothers, Ricardo, Samuel and Nisael Cortina; sister, Maria De La Luz Cortina; eleven grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Damaris was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She enjoyed ministry and would often visit the sick with her husband. Damaris enjoyed reading the bible and took pride in the many verses she had memorized. She loved to sing. Damaris always had a smile on her face even throughout the hard times. She enjoyed sewing and making dresses. Her greatest joy however was spending time with her grandchildren and celebrating their achievements. Damaris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Damaris will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 am with the funeral service following beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.

Le preceden en su muerte sus padres Ricardo Cortina y Gila Benavides; Su esposo de 43 años de matrimonio, Pablo Sanchez; cuatro hermanos y tres hermanas. Le sobreviven sus hijos, Pablo C. Sanchez. y esposa Dalia, Hugo Sanchez y esposa Chelsea; sus hijas, Diana Pacheco y esposo Edgar, Dina y esposo Esteban; Hermanos, Ricardo, Samuel y Nisael Cortina; hermana Maria De La Luz Cortina; 10 nietos y familiares.

Damaris fué una mujer de fé que amó al Señor Jesus. Disfrutaba trabajar en el ministerio al lado de su esposo y visitar a los enfermos. Damaris tambien le gustaba leer la palabra de Dios y cantar himnos. Damaris siempre tuvo una sonrisa pese a las adversidades. Su pasatiempo favorito fué la costura y disfrutar a sus nietos. Su presencia será extrañada por todos los que la conocieron y amaron.

Los servicios funebres será el viernes 2 de agosto, 2019 en la Funeraria Clayton localizada en 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. La visita será desde 9:30 am a las 11:00 am continuando el servicio Cristiano a las 11:00 am. Posteriormente sus restos serán trasladados a Houston Memorial Gardens en Pearland, Texas.
