Obituary of Charles Robert Dellinger, Sr.

Charles “Bob” Robert Dellinger Sr., 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family Thursday, August 8, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ebb and Laura Grace Dellinger; and sons, Ronnie and Bobby Dellinger. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 21 years, Carol Dellinger; son, Russell Dellinger and wife, Nora; daughters, Marla Gibson and husband, Kenneth, Mindi Soliz and husband, Roy, Carla Garza and husband, Larry, Rhonda Shuman and husband, Joey; daughters-in-law, Ann and Laura Dellinger; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

   He was a proud veteran serving in the US Navy during World War II and later returning to serve in the US Naval Reserves. Bob worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph in Asheville, North Carolina. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1974, transferring to Southwestern Bell / AT&T, later retiring at the age of 55.

   A Memorial Service for Bob will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 4:00 pm at New Harvest Christian Fellowship, 12216 Broadway St., Pearland, Texas 77584 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. An Interment with military honors to be held for Bob at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
