Obituary of Raymond Glenn Crispi

Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Raymond Glenn Crispi, 64, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anthony Crispi Jr. and Mary Katheryn Drake Crispi.  Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Melanie Walters and husband, Cory, Rachel Royal and husband, Anthony, Jessica Crispi; brothers, Richard Crispi and wife, Shari, Robert Badgett and wife, Linda, James Badgett, J.T. Badgett and wife, Genieva; sisters, Carolyn Topfer, Connie Elliott and husband, Ray, Shirley Abel and husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Lana and A.J. Royal, Morgan Crispi; lifelong friends, Ronnie and Teresa Holder, Bobby and Barbara Holder; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Raymond was a rambunctious kid who had many adventures with friends and family.  His home, when growing up, was always the neighborhood hangout where all the boys played football, baseball and parked their bikes in the driveway so that his mom would come out yelling that they had to move their bikes as Dad was on his way home.  He was known to hang out with all his buddies chewing on sassafras roots, jumping on pogo sticks up and down the street or digging holes and tunnels in the ground and convincing others to follow him in.  Raymond and his childhood friend, Ronnie spent countless hours hunting, fishing and swapping stories.  Over the years, these stories turned into quite the family folklore.  Raymond was a big animal lover, and enjoyed watching animal Planet, Dr. Pool and Too Cute with his niece, Blakely.  He was known to rescue many a stray cat or dog.  Raymond always enjoyed taking Rachel and Britney to school in the morning and turning up the radio as he serenaded them to his favorite Shania Twain and John Anderson country songs.  He loved watching the Houston Astros and couldn’t wait for Shirley and Charlie to get home so they could all watch together.  He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and was especially known for his Crispi gumbo. Raymond was somewhat of a foodie and enjoyed drinking coffee, eating pecan pie, Fredericksburg peaches, frying shrimp and eating all the jellies and jams from Buc-ee’s.  Fall was his favorite season as he got to spend time in the outdoors and get ready for deer season.  He cherished spending time with all his grandkids, nieces and nephews and doing thoughtful things for them while expecting nothing in return. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved picking at his nephews as he asked them about their imaginary girlfriends.  Raymond will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
