Col. Eric A. Ericsson, 89, retired U.S. Army, passed away August 22, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marion Ericsson, and his first wife of 56 years, Greta Ann Sexmith Ericsson. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie Ericsson; sons, Dr. Charles Ericsson and wife, Joyce, and their children Jen and Jeff; John Ericsson and wife, Jeannie, and their children Liberty and Crystal; Eric Ericsson, Jr.; Victor Ericsson and daughter Clarissa; Robert Ericsson and wife, Faith; and daughters, Deborah Jackson and daughter, Elise; and April Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Ryder, Caden, Rowan, Dexter, Mckayla, Ally, Journey, Samantha, Jake, A.J., Madison, and Lawson.
Eric proudly served his country for more than 30 years, and received numerous commendations and awards for his efforts in Germany, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and the United States.
During his retirement, he enjoyed working as a real estate broker, traveling the world, collecting rare stones and lapidary arts, fishing, golfing, playing Tripoli and Mexican train with friends and family. Spending time with his children and grand and great grandchildren brought Eric much joy and pleasure.
Military Services will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, on September 17 at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life in Eric’s honor will be held at the Ericsson family home on September 25 at 4 p.m.
