Obituary of Barbara Bobbitt Younger

Barbara (Gee) Younger, 85, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Monday, October 28th, 2019. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lisa and Duane Gilbert. Barbara will also be fondly remembered by her granddaughter, Angelique and George Douty as well as grandson Chris and Brittany Gilbert along with her three great grandchildren, Jiles, Remi and Gia.  Barbara was predeceased by her mother, Elna Griffin Bobbitt and her father, James F Bobbitt as well as her son James Keith Younger. Barbara loved her family wholeheartedly and showed her love and affection by making her family and friends beautiful quilts. In addition, she enjoyed cheering on her favorite sports teams including the Houston Astros, San Antonio Spurs and all the sports teams from her alma mater the University of Texas. In her later years, Barbara was also extremely proud of her spiritual journey including carrying a message of healing to all who reached out by sharing her experience in overcoming alcoholism with strength and devotion seen by celebrating 45 years of sobriety in AA. Barbara was truly loved and will be missed by all. A private celebration of life will be held with family.
