Gayle Lannette Moore, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019. She is preceded in death by her father, James Moore. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Iris Moore; son, Erik Moore and wife, Nyanza; brothers, Timothy Moore and wife, Delacy; James Moore; grandchildren, Kennedy and Lincoln Moore; and a host of other family and dear friends. Gayle was a devoted mother and sister that loved her family. She believed strongly in supporting and cultivating young minds through education. Gayle taught for more than 35 years in the Houston ISD system and was a teacher at Foerster Elementary school and Valley West Elementary School. While at Valley West she also served as the Math Supervisor. Gayle was quite accomplished in her field and had earned National Women of Achievement honors. When not teaching young students, she kept her mind sharp as a founding member of the Black Diamonds Bid Whist Club, an active member of the TSI Card Club and Are We Playing Poker Tonight Group. She was also involved in the Top-Notch Teachers book Club in her free time. Gayle cherished spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services for Gayle will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Pastor Louis L. Campbell II officiating.
