Edith Evans Wright, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Bertie Evans; her loving husband, Wilford Wright; daughter, Sharon Louise Ridgway; and brothers, Ray Evans, Gerald Evans, and Gail Evans. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Wayne Wright and wife, Jan; brothers, Mike Evans, Larry Evans, Ronnie Evans; sister, Dora Smith; grandchildren, Tammy Ridgway (Janusz Kowalczk), Troy Ridgway (Christina), Monica Gutierrez (Steven), Michael Nolen (Nicole), Audrey Lopez (Leroy), Travis Wright (Patricia); great grandchildren, Chris, Marisa, Jacob, Ava, Vanessa, Makayla, Rebekaha, Luke, Logan, Haizley, Oaklynn, Aleksander, Lyndn, Lukasz, Aniston and Linleigh; and a host of other family and dear friends. Edith and Wilford were married in 1948 and spent 69 wonderful years together. She loved her family very much and took great joy in spending time with them. Edith loved to cook and share family recipes with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a huge fan of Houston sports and always made sure to cheer on her Houston Astros and Houston Rockets teams. Edith was strong in her faith and truly loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services for Edith will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. The visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the services at La Porte Cemetery in La Porte, Texas.
