Obituary of Loretta Ann Harris

Loretta Ann “Brown” Harris, 85, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020. She was born on December 8, 1934 in Providence Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Louis Brown and Flora Dixon Smith Brown, her brothers, Hubert R. Brown and Thomas R. Brown and her loving husband of 58 years, Jackson Davis Harris. Left to cherish her memory, is her son, Mike Harris and wife, Jodi; brother, Wayne Brown and wife Betty; grandchildren, Kendall, Riley, Mitchell, Megan, Madelynn and her dear friend, “J.R.” as well as a host of many other family and friends. Loretta married the love of her life Jackson D. Harris, her high school sweetheart. They grew up in the same small town, building their lifelong bond from an early age. She enjoyed spending time with “J.D.” whether they were flying in their private plane or traveling the lower 48 states in their motorhome. Loretta always looked forward to visiting her “little cottage in the woods” that her and “J.D” built together, located at Lake Livingston. She was happiest at the lake spending time with family and friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were researching her family lineage, gardening and cooking. Loretta was adventurous throughout her life and in her later years, she found great joy in her travels and cruises with her dear friend and companion “J.R.” She was a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Services for Loretta will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The Memorial Service will take place in the funeral home chapel, Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00 am with Pastor Ron Ryan officiating.
