Obituary of Clarence Mills Jr.

Please share a memory of Clarence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clarence Mills Jr., 83, passed Friday January 24, 2020. Left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter, Felicia Epps and husband Brian Epps; son, Jashon Mills and wife Alissa Mills, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren along with other family, neighbors and dear friends. Clarence was a car guy. He spent his spare time coordinating the restoration of many classic cars over the years. If he wasn’t having them worked on, you’d find him cruising around his neighborhood he lived in for over 30 years. His cruising usually led him to his local car show that he proudly accepted many first-place trophies from. His distinguished 20+ year career and retirement from Harris County allowed him the time he needed to ensure those first-place trophies. He especially loved Jazz music. He played the saxophone and bought his first sax while in the army stationed in Germany as a young man. His love for jazz extended to dancing which he found many available partners to dance with at his local honky-tonk. He cherished his mother’s roses growing in his back yard and was meticulous about keeping his lawn green and trimmed. Clarence cherished his independence and freedom and will be missed by all who loved and knew him. A Graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:45 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
