Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 16 years, Julie Lawson Gross; sons, Dalton Gross, Kyle Lawson and wife, Taylor, Kelly Lawson and wife, Dani, Keith Lawson; daughter, Payton Gross; stepfather, Michael Bell (Big Daddy); in-laws, David and Jane Maxwell; sister, Kimberly (Sissy) Brown and husband, Roy; grandchild, Skylar Lawson; nephews, Cole Brown and fiancé, Mariah Cooper, Jesse Brown; his beloved dogs, Trixie and Mayhem; and a host of other family and dear friends. Troy was a loving son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather (Papi), uncle and best friend. He will be forever loved and missed by them all. He is a graduating alumnus of Westfield High School class of 1986. There he lettered in football as their star Tight End and Kicker and baseball as the pitcher and 1st baseman. Troy had a passion for life. He loved driving and did so for a living for many years. He spent countless hours, days, and weeks delivering soft drinks, machinery, dairy products, vehicles, red box air conditioning units and countless other things….you name it, he probably had a hand in it! Troy’s zest for life was contagious. He was always the life of the party! He was fearless, brave, fierce and fragile. He had a huge heart, was humorous and enjoyed making you laugh. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and was never judgmental. He was there in a second if you needed him….anytime, anywhere. Troy’s passions were many and included Baseball, Football, Nascar, Golf, Fishing, Hunting, Boating and his time spent with the Maverick Kookers during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo seasons in past years…he loved it all. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, taking his step kids wakeboarding, or just hanging out and relaxing. Troy loved his old man station on the radio listening to Rush Limbaugh on talk radio 950. He lived life to the fullest. Troy was a great man that never met a stranger and always had a nickname for you. He had the unique ability to always make you feel like he’d known you forever. His compassion and willingness to help others in need was overwhelming. Troy was a big guy that had a huge soft spot for babies, children, animals and the elderly. He loved beautiful sunsets, full moons, fireflies and camo. Today, Troy feels no pain. He lived life on the edge where there were no rules. He is whole again with a brand-new body and will live and love until eternity.
