He was pre-deceased by his Beloved mother Alice Mae Copeland, father J.W. Copeland, brother John Copeland, Mother-in law Johnnie Halle, and Father-in-Law Jack Halle who loved him more like a son than son-in-law David served in the United State Navy during the Vietnam war onboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He spoke often and with extreme pride about his time in service of his country. He retired from Pipefitters Local 211 in 2004 following a stroke. Following his stroke, we moved to Coldspring, Texas where he loved to fish until his health started to fail. David loved to drive his grandkids to the bus stop every morning then go up to Browder’s Marina to drink coffee and catch up on the latest gossip. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, and playing Dominos. You can bet there’s a game of dominos happening right now in heaven. He loved the holidays, when the house was full of family and friends. He especially loved watching the little ones open presents. Frying turkeys was a big deal; no one could do it right without him overseeing things. He fought a good fight with his health issues but on February 4th in his oldest grandson’s arms he went home to Jesus. He is now at peace. Always know he loved you all.
