Charles Ray Layton, Sr., 60, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Charlie is survived by his parents, Clifford and Nina Layton of Pearland, Texas; sons, Bryan Layton and wife, Rowena of San Antonio, Texas and Charles Ray Layton, Jr., of Pearland, Texas; brother, Ronald Layton and wife, Lori of Deer Park, Texas; nephews, Kevin and Austin Layton; grandchildren, Bryan and Bea Layton; stepchildren, Kenny, Mandy, Chantelle, Sherri, Dana and step-granddaughter, Leilani. Charlie worked as a crane operator for 40 years but was forced to give it up due to his health. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a loving father and friend to anyone and could make anyone laugh. Charlie was also a member of the Church of Christ. A special thank you to the people of Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas for their loving care and support during his final days. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Clayton Funeral Home for being very accommodating during this difficult time. Memorial services to honor the life of Charles Ray Layton, Sr. will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Chapel, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie's honor to the Pearland Church of Christ, 2217 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581.
