Gayle Hart Marshall of Port Aransas, Texas, was born in Bay City, Texas on May 25, 1936, to her parents Mickey and Elaine Hart. She died in Houston, Texas on February 16, 2020, at the age of 83, four years to the day after her husband of 33 years Monte Marshall passed away. Gayle graduated from Bay City High School in 1954 and the University of Texas in 1958. Gayle taught first second and third grades for 32 years in Bossier City, Louisiana; Houston, Port Aransas, and Aransas Pass, Texas. She was a favorite teacher among her students. She was passionate about her dogs, the beach, her family and friends, and a good party on her front porch. Gayle was joyful and the life of any party—she knew no stranger. She loved Trinity-by-the-Sea and her church-lady friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jay Kenigsberg; her son, Cary Brooks; her sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Thomas Manning; her niece, Leigh Manning (Jerod Anz); seven grandchildren, Lindsey (Grant) Bergman, Lauren (Tray) Clark, Whitney (Coulter) Neckar, Abby Kenigsberg, Aaron Kenigsberg, Courtney Brooks (Baron Fields), and Cary Brooks; three great grandsons, Dodson Bergman, Brayden Clark, and Wesley Clark; her great niece, Ava Anz; and her best Brussels Griffon, Gracie. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 1:30 pm, at Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 433 Trojan Street, Port Aransas, Texas 78373, with a reception to follow at Seafood and Spaghetti Works.
