Please share a memory of Jimmy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jimmy Gayle Chandler, 84, of Seabrook passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020. He was born on March 16, 1936 in Martinsville, Texas to Turner and Christine Chandler. He moved to Seabrook at the age of 2 years old. Jimmy attended Bay Area Elementary School and graduated from Webster High School in 1955. He served his country by joining the United States Navy right out of High School. He spent two years in San Diego, CA and two years in Kodiak, AL. Jimmy returned to Seabrook in November of 1958.
“Jim” started pipefitter apprentice school and went to school for 5 years. He was a proud union man and received his forty-year certificate when he retired at age 62. Jim was from a large family of two brothers, Kenneth and Dutchie and two sisters, Sharon and Sondra.
Jim loved mowing the big lawn and spent three or four hours on his riding mower until it was perfect. It has not looked that good in a very long time. Giving up his mower keys was harder than giving up his truck keys.
Jim will follow his Mother, Dad, Brother Kenneth into Heaven and the arms of our Lord. May he rest in peace. It was time.
