Josephine Eleanor Anderson (Jo), 86, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at St. Luke’s – Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas. Jo was born on November 1, 1933 in Wiimblington, Cambershire, England to Joseph and Edith Norman. Jo met a young American serviceman, Glen Lewis Anderson (Andy), who was stationed in England. They were married June 13, 1953, at St. Peters Church in Wimblington, England. During Andy’s 20 years in the Air Force they would raise four children and live in England, Ohio, Alabama, New Mexico, Illinois, and Texas. Josephine became a United States citizen on October 3, 1957. She was a United States Civil Servant and worked at Base Exchanges and Commissaries where Andy was stationed and at Ellington Airforce Base after Andy retired and the family moved to La Porte, Tx. She was a member of British Wives Club and was on the committee welcoming John F. Kennedy at Holoman Airforce base in New Mexico. While living in New Mexico Jo was a Red Cross volunteer on an Indian reservation. After Ellington closed Jo started a new chapter as a Plant Operator at the Shell Chemical Plant in Deer Park, Tx. She retired after 20 years of service. Jo is survived by her children Kay Palozotto of La Porte, John Anderson and wife Leslie of La Porte, Victoria Summers of Spring, David Anderson of La Porte grandchildren Cathy Robinson, Daniel Anderson, Michael Anderson and wife Stephanie, Nicholas Grantom, Elizabeth Valentine and husband Jason great grandchildren Jeffery Anderson, Christopher Robinson, Michela Anderson, Olivia Valentine and siblings John Norman, William Norman, and Patricia Herr all of England. She is preceded in death by her spouse Glen Anderson and her parents Joseph and Edith Norman. A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 26th at the La Porte Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
