Obituary of Iris Delia Lopez

Iris Delia Lopez, 73, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Rodriguez and Tomasa Ruiz. Left to cherish her memory are her children Mary Lopez and husband Nelson, Mildred Rivera and husband William, and Benjamin Valentin and wife Migdalia; sisters, Ricarda Rodriguez and husband Alberto, Carmen Salas and husband Israel; grandchildren, Lynnette, Benjamin, Nelson Javier and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Giannis, Taliah, Elias, Xavier, and Noelle; and a host of other family members and dear friends. Iris was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She cherished holidays, birthdays and any other opportunity to get together with family. Special times that Iris enjoyed included playing bingo and card games with her family and preparing her special Puerto Rican dishes with her loved ones. She has lovingly passed on some of those special recipes for her family to be able to continue to prepare and enjoy. Iris also loved spending time gardening, especially growing beautiful flowers. Iris was affectionately known as “Granny” to everyone. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
