Ann Iverson Holmes (nee Bickham) was born at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 14, 1933. Her family moved to Chicago when she was a young girl and she attended Doolittle Elementary. She graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in 1950. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Morgan Iverson Jr. to which Edith Antoinette and Dena Maria were born. Ann was a hard worker and retired after working for 42 years at Nabisco in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking and playing music and dancing and having a good time with her family and all that knew her. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, she took her final breath on April 29, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leslie E Bickham and Perneria Howard; sister, Brenda Jenkins; brother, Roosevelt Howard Jr.; ex-husbands, Morgan Iverson Jr. and Eddie Holmes; and beloved daughter, Dena Rivera. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Edith Antoinette Iverson; Grandchildren: Christopher Andre Burgess (Anesha); Thomas William Burgess III aka Tre; Eboni Chauntryce Blackshear (Jerry), Evan Christian Burgess, Lee Russell Porter III, and Mea Monique Loving (Ahmad). Great-grandchildren: Kevin DeJon (Marina), Justin Devon, Nena Cymone, Jacqueline Antoinette Christine (Cameron), Trelon Keizon, Justin Devon, Gaven Diontre, Treshon Cortez, Treneshia Antoinette, Myliek Jacquez, Kai Manolo, Jaidyn Leah, Amaya Morgan, Ashtin Miles, Aiden Maxwell, Taharia Inaaya, Aeryn Marie, and Cree Ali. Great-great-granchildren: India, Dallas and Dalia. Best friend, Dora Parker and a host of other family members and dear friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of the unforgettable Ms. Ann Holmes. This is a pause...not a period.
