Obituary of Aubrey Gerald Ellis

Aubrey Gerald Ellis went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the age of 73. He was one of nine children born to Milburn and Mellie Ellis on February 13, 1937 in Riverside, Texas. He spent most of his life in the Pearland-Friendswood area. He was married for 52 years to his loving wife, Martha Ellis. Aubrey graduated from Pearland High School and attended The University of Houston along with other local universities where he took continuing education courses in his profession. He was self-employed in the water and pump industry and a long-time member of the Water Well Drillers Association of Texas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 8 years. He was a former city councilman and mayor pro-tem for the City of Pearland. He was an avid fisherman and family man, who loved the Lord. He served in the Children’s Ministries at First Baptist Church Pearland for 35 years. Aubrey is survived by his son Randy K. Ellis and wife Selena Ellis, daughters Missy Ellis and Cindy Ellis. He is also survived by grandchildren Zachary Wasson, Erin Ellis, Matthew Ellis, Shannon Ellis, Mallory Hall, Piper Ellis and Carter Ellis. He is preceded in death by parents Milburn and Mellie Ellis, brothers William Ellis, Marvin Ellis, M.W. Ellis and Frederick Ellis and sisters Lilly Nelson and Elsie Krell. He is survived by brothers Donald Ellis and Philip Ellis. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clayton Funeral Home, 5330 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas (281) 485-4446. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Clayton Funeral Home.
