Please share a memory of Rodney to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rodney Mark Jones, 61 of Spring, TX passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, September 11, 2020, peacefully in bed at home.
Mark, the son of Clyde Harold Jones and Dolores Ann Lochridge Jones, was born on September 11, 1959, in Houston, Texas. He grew up with his three brothers (Harold Keith Jones, Michael Brent Jones, and Ronald Blake Jones) in the Westbury neighborhood and graduated from Westbury High School in 1978. He attended and graduated from the ITT Technical Institute of Houston and became an IT Specialist. He spent twenty-five years at Shell Oil and never missed a day of work. Later he worked at Anadarko in the Woodlands, Texas for several years before retirement. He truly loved his job and left an impression on those he worked with. He spent his retirement years doing what he loved—fishing, boating, and eating at the lake house in Riverside off the Trinity River, taking care of his home (especially the yard and pool), spending quality time with his daughter, mother, family, friends, and neighbors.
Mark was loved by many and often lovingly referred to as, "Uncle Mark". He happily gave whatever he had away to others—letting the neighborhood kids and families use his pool and sharing his bounty of oranges from his beloved orange tree. His kind heart, sense of humor, and sincere expressions of love will be missed by all who knew him. Many lives were made better because of his cheerful and caring personality.
Waiting to greet him in heaven and celebrate him home, are his father, Clyde Harold Jones; his grandparents; and all relatives before him. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Brittany Nicole Jones; his mother, Dolores Ann Lochridge Jones; his ex-wife, Janet Lee DeNoi; three brothers, sisters in-law, nieces, and nephews; uncle John Lochridge and aunt Mary Lochridge; many cousins, and numerous other relatives that he loved and cherished. He will be greatly missed by all.
There will not be any funeral services. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held later in the Spring of 2021. If you would like to honor Mark’s memory, please plant a tree. Mark loved this world dearly and left it a better place.
