Obituary of Juan Francisco Saenz

Juan Francisco Saenz, 84, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Gertrudis Saenz; his loving wife of 58 years, Chila Olivarez Saenz; and brother, Horacio “Lacho” Saenz. Left to cherish his memory his sons, Frank Saenz Jr. and wife, Mary Frances, Joel Saenz and wife, Mindie; daughter, Leila Mercado and husband, Joe; sisters, Irma Doris Benavides, Bertha Nora Hinojosa and husband, Narciso; grandchildren, Dustin Saenz, Nicholas Saenz, Danielle Aldridge, Rachel Saenz, Sarah Saenz, Christopher Saenz, Samantha Saenz; great grandchildren, Kingslei, Vincent, Carter, Hunter, Amber, Aria, and Aurora; and a host of other family and dear friends. Frank had a successful career as a Turbine Component repair engineer, who worked for G.E where he was instrumental in the development of Steam and Gas turbine component repair techniques, Frank supported several independent repair companies in the Houston area during start up and later was a co-owner of Gas Path Technology Inc. In High School, Frank was an exceptional academic student that always gave praise to his teachers, In the 1952 Border Olympics in Laredo TX, Frank ran a 10.2 100-yard dash while running for his High School Varsity Track Team. Not only was Frank a great sprinter, but he was also good as a football athlete as well. After High School Frank and Chila decided to marry and start a family. Frank was a good husband, father, grandfather, and provider for his family. He cherished spending time with his family, horses and projects he supported for family and friends. Frank will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Visitation for Frank will he held Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am with Father Jim Courville officiating. Interment will follow at Alvin Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
