Obituary of Mary Felts

Mary “Joyce” Felts, age 81 of Pearland, passed away on March 28, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Edgar & Ruth (Richardson) Blackwell, husband Charles L. Felts, son, Nolly L. Felts, and grandson, Craig L. Felts. She is survived by her son Kirk Felts & his wife Rosaline; daughters, Ruth Colvin & her husband Stacy, and Tina Harrod; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Felts, Angie McDaniel & her husband Rich, Anne Felts, Nolly Felts & his wife Erin, Amy Winsor & her husband Chad, Mabry Colvin, Madison Colvin, and Michelle Harrod; eleven great-children, Rich, Chelsea, Seth, Joey, Emmie, Christopher and Lauren Felts, Morgan and Shelby Winsor, Jaiden Matte, and Jordyn Barrera; nephew, John Boone; many other relatives and a host of friends. Joyce was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 13, 1926. She received her Nursing Degree from Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis in 1944. She eventually became a cadet with the Nursing Corp. Joyce dedicated her life to her family and the thousands of patients she treated during her career. For many years, Joyce and Charles loved playing golf and dancing. She was dedicated to her church and enjoyed church activities. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Joyce will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas, 281-485-4446. The funeral service is at 4:00 pm, Sunday, also at Clayton Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Bob Joiner and Reverend Dariel Newman both of First United Methodist Church of Pearland. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134, 901-386-4858.
