I was lucky enough to work with Ben. He was always a light on campus. His laugh was infectious. He shared his insights on Carl Jung and introduced me to author James Hollis, PhD. I will always be grateful for the life changing information. He was a giver and we were all blessed to have his light shine on those around him.

It was 1998 (I think). Sitting by the firebon with a bunch of friends. Ben taught me how to play "The Ring of Fire" on the guitar in just a couple of minutes. (I actually loves the song because of him)
We played it together in our guitars several times and it sounded great (amazing I would say)...
Then when I played it by myself feeling like a new country star, I realized it was Ben's great voice that made it sound great ( I sucked by myself)
I'm deeply touched...
I know he is in a better place, on his way to the house of the father.
So here I leave my greetings and my ongoing prayers for his family and for him, so that his soul may soon rest in God's arms.

I'll always remember Ben as a full of life classmate and teammate. His large, gracious smile; someone you could always count on to bring up your spirits. He was a year older than I in school, but always chopped it up with me in class and on the field. I probably wouldn't have passed whichever programming course we were forced to take back then at St. Thomas if it weren't for him. Sitting next to one another he never grew impatient with my questions or need for explanation. I couldn't pay attention to save my life back then, but with Ben explaining it to me it was cake. Hahaha the first time I ever saw the name 'Jeff' spelled "Geoff" and him cracking up laughing at my pronunciation...."geee-off." I still think of Ben when I meet Geoffs. Him christening me with the nickname "whip" on the baseball diamond because of the ugly and jerky pitching motion I had. Having not seen Ben in so much time since high school, 'whip' was one of the first ways he greeted me upon us reconnecting on social media. His humor and good nature was still apparent. I am so saddened and heart broken to hear of Ben's passing. I hope my memories of Ben help anyone dealing with his loss feel a bit of his spirit once again. My deepest condolences to all his family. May Ben forever rest in peace.

Dear Hall Family,
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Ben. We spent many years of school together at St. Michaels and St. Thomas. We lost touch after high school, but kept up with each other through social media and watched each other's families grow. I thoroughly enjoyed his posts about chili and seeing updates on his beautiful family. Always made my smile. My favorite memories of Ben were in the various sporting teams we played on. I believe we were on almost 20 teams together. Ben was a great athlete and was an exceptional teammate. He was the calm to my storm. Ben was always so humble, calm, cool and collected. He was an amazing goalie in middle school, had a great jump shot from the free throw line in basketball, and was a great hitter in baseball. He was a cerebral player and was a big part of our teams' successes over that span. He was such a good person, friend and teammate who will be dearly missed. I'll always cherish those times and memories we shared together. Rest in Peace Ben. Love ya!!!! - Zach Barfuss
