Joey and I were childhood friends growing up. We both lived on lake Norman and went to the same high school. One day Joey was riding home with me from school, and a car in front of us hit a dog and left the dog in the middle of the road. I urged Joey to jump out of my car and move the dog. The dog snapped at him and tried to bite him. I don't know how Joey managed it, but he got that dog off the road safely. We laughed about that so many times. He was always so kind and humble. I was fortunate enough to meet his beautiful wife at our 20th high school reunion. My thoughts and prayers go out to Yvette, his kids and extended family. I know he will be missed. RIP my friend.

Yvette, Alexia, Joseph, Michael, Carolyn, John, and family - Joe was a one-of-a-kind guy in my opinion. I was fortunate to work with Joe in the early 2000s. In my mind, I can hear his voice and his laughter even now. He was a good man and a wonderful boss. There was never any doubt how much he loved each of you, his family. And, I’m very thankful for his service to our country.
When I was advised of Joe leaving the bonds of earth for his assignment in heaven, my heart sank into sadness because I immediately thought of how much he will be missed by his precious family and friends. I pray your hearts will find comfort in knowing he no longer suffers from chronic illness, but is at peace. In the days and weeks to come, it is my hope that you will reflect on the good times you enjoyed with Joe and by doing so he will live on in your hearts and thoughts.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (ESV)

I was so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He really was such a nice guy to get to know. I enjoyed my talks with him very much. I appreciate him serving our country. I know his family is missing him so much. It hurts so bad when your family member leaves you on earth but I know he is looking down on you and he will always be there for you. I hope you will eventually have peace with his passing. Everyone who got to know him has wonderful stories. I hope you get to hear as many as you can. It will help ease your hearts just a little.

To Yvette and family, I'm saddened to hear of your loss. I was in the Pearland CPA class with Joe and Yvette - truly two of the friendliest people around every class and every event they volunteered at. I know his family and friends will miss Joe more than anyone can truly imagine, but what a blessing to have all of the memories that you all do.
