Obituary of Marion Collin Jenkins

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Collins Jenkins left this world for his Heavenly home on February 14, 2021, at the age of 83. He was born in Galveston, Texas on July 10, 1937 to William Jennings and Clair Jenkins. Marion was a resident of Galveston until the age 12, along with his siblings Clair, Sunny, Jimmy and Lois. He called both Texas and California home until finally settling in Grapevine, Texas, where he resided at the time of his passing. He was a USAF Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Following his service to his Country, Marion was employed by Seagrams as well as owning several businesses throughout the years. Not only was he a member of the Lions Club, but he also spent his free time as a volunteer with several Law Enforcement Agencies. Along with loving and caring for his wife, Deanna, Marion was an avid gardener, a sports fan (especially his hometown Dallas teams, the Ranger and Cowboys). Marion and his wife had a great love for animals. There were many animals throughout the years that found comfort, love, food and warmth in their home, whether it was neighborhood pets, strays looking for a friend or the lucky ones who became part of the family. Marion was the kind of man who never met a stranger. Using his gift of gab, charm and charisma, Marion had a way of putting people at ease and drawing them in. This allowed him to touch the hearts and lives of many he met along life’s journey. His loving personality brought excitement to his grandchildren and niece and nephew, who looked forward to his many stories and jokes during visits. Marion is survived by his devoted, loving wife, of 53 years, Deanna Jenkins; children, Jodi Renee and spouse, Mark Nolen, Brett Jenkins and wife, Kim, Cathy Mitchell; grandchildren, Carly Rich, Kellie Hastings, Kristen Nolen, Beau Jenkins, Ava Jenkins, Sam Jenkins; great grandchildren, Everett Rich, Cole Rich, Jackson Rich, Wells Hastings, Nolen Hastings; siter-in-law Joyce Rannals; niece Amy Smaihall and her children, Connor and Sarah Holbrook; nephew Patrick Rannals and wife Mellisa and their children, Tanner and Cody Rannals, and a host of other dear family and friends. Marion is preceded in death by his parents, William and Clair Jenkins; brother, Sunny Jenkins; sisters, Clair and Lois. As a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle, Marion Jenkins will be dearly missed.
