Obituary of Rubye Jo Knight

Rubye Jo Knight, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Ellen Tucker; loving husband, Von Knight; granddaughters, Amber Knight and Patricia Hopkins; and great-grandson Hunter Hopkins. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Phillip Keith Knight and wife, Lisa, David Tucker Knight and wife, Pat; daughter Becky Hopkins; grandchildren Jennifer Garner, Dustin Knight, Jennifer Powell, Jessica Powell, Jonathan Powell, Dennis Wayne Hopkins, Kyle Seymour, Sammy Seymour; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson, and a host of other dear family and friends. Rubye Jo was a long-time resident of Pearland, Texas, and a member of the Pearland Church of Christ for more than 50 years. She was a chapter member of the Pearland Area Republican Club. In 1986 she was presented the National Republican Hall of Honor award by Governor Rick Perry. Rubye Jo would blush whenever this was mentioned in conversation. She was an avid reader, and loved to play cards, especially Hand and Foot. Rubye enjoyed RVing and traveling. One of her favorite places to visit was Branson, Missouri. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
