Obituary of Simon Thomas Joseph McIntyre

Simon Thomas Joseph McIntyre, 50, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew George McIntyre. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Evelyn Jeanette Maxwell McIntyre; loving wife, of 15 years, Samantha McIntyre; sons Cameron McIntyre and Mitchell McIntyre, and a host of other many other family and friends. Simon proudly served in the Royal Signals Regiment of the British Army for five years. He was also the Rugby Captain of the British Army Team all five years he served. Simon genuinely loved the Lord and was a member of New Hope Church for the last ten years. Simon enjoyed helping others by serving on the Eyes and Ears Committee and with the Night to Shine as well. He was a loving husband and father who was a wonderful provider for his family. Simon had a successful career as a Telecommunications Engineer. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing, especially Bay fishing. Simon loved spending time with his sons, playing chess, fishing, hunting, and teaching them gun safety. Simon enjoyed traveling and going to their property in East Texas. Simon also enjoyed cooking and was quite good at it. He was known for his delicious Chili and Venison Curry. Simon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services for Simon will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. The funeral service is scheduled at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Sam Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, in Alvin, Texas. Following interment, a reception will be held at Joe's BBQ in Alvin, Texas, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
