Catherine LaRue Case, 85, passed away on November 11, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Susie Gibson, sisters, Frances Gibson Fulbright and Gwen Gibson Rambo. LaRue is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dick Case; daughters, LaJuana Case Gill and husband, Randy, and Donna Case Wallis and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Tressa Catherine Maddux and husband Scott, Clinton Case Wallis, Jackson William Wallis, Sara Pat Wallis, and Christopher Randall Gill. LaRue’s father passed away when she was twelve years old and that loss served as motivation to instill not only a strong work ethic but also a determination to do well in school. She graduated Salutatorian from her high school. LaRue worked while in college and received a degree from Abiliene Christian University with Summa Cum Laude honors. She was in the first graduating class that offered a degree in Psychology. LaRue was a scholar, who loved to read and loved all parts of learning and education. She passed on this love of reading to her girls. LaRue truly loved the Lord and committed her life to Christ and her family. She was a beautiful, bright woman of God to all that knew her. LaRue always felt more comfortable serving others above herself. She was a true supportive partner in her husband’s ministry. LaRue was thrifty and was always knew how to stretch a dollar. She was a self-taught seamstress and made many beautiful dresses for her daughters. She also taught both of them how to sew as well. Her love of education also extended to Bible study as she taught many young girls how to become young ladies. LaRue was invited to teach and counsel at the Good Shepherd Home for Girls in Denver, Colorado. Dick and LaRue enjoyed traveling the world together spreading the word of Christ and always enjoyed the mission trips together. The trips were always a great adventure and a wonderful part of her life she shared with her family. She enjoyed good health for most of her life. LaRue will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 2 to 5 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. A funeral Service will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10 am at Clayton Funeral Home. There will be another funeral service, for her North Texas church families, on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 1 pm at the Bridgewood Church of Christ at 6516 Brentwood Stair Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76112. A private interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
