Obituary
Obituary of Frank Doherty
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our dad, Francis Patrick Doherty, known to most as Frank, passed from this life on May 17, 2021. When asked how old he was, he would proudly say, 85 1/2. He lived his whole life in Pearland and was proud to be a part of the community.
He was born to his parents Anna and Frank Doherty on August 14, 1935 in Houston, Texas. Their family grew with the addition of 3 more boys: John, Mike, and Tommy. They were always known as “the Doherty Boys”, need we say more. On July 07, 1954, Dad Married our mom Estelle, and started their family; yes, 5 girls. Mary Wisnoski, Annette Vavrecka, Kitty Wilbanks and husband Scott, Maury Doherty, and the tail end Telly Kreft.
We all feel so grateful and will cherish the time we were able to share love, laughter and memories including his 12 grandchildren and their spouses. Misty Singleton (Jeff), Mindy Rippstein (Spencer), Stephen Vavrecka (DeShana), Jared Vavrecka (Sheena), Amber Stephens (Colby), Justin Wiseman (Chelsea), Cody Kreft (Michele), Clayton Kreft (Megan), Kandice Dalmolin (Matt Hanegan), Kristyn Dalmolin (Niklas Adam), Jared Wilbanks (Casi) Megan Dixon (Cody). Dad was blessed with (25) beautiful great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He left this world to join his many loved ones in heaven, including his parents, brothers John and Mike Doherty, and his wife of 51 years Estelle Doherty.
On August 02, 2018, dad began a new journey with his current wife June Doherty.
Dad enjoyed his church St. Helen’s, being a member of the Pearland Historical Society, the Texas Ground Water Association, his cows, telling stories, his Irish Heritage and traditions which included the St. Patty’s Day parade and festivities. He was a collector of all things and a man that wore many hats as you all know!
There will be time to visit and share your memories of Dad on Monday, May 24th from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. Father Jim Courville will begin the Rosary at 6:00 pm.
A mass presided by Father Jim will be celebrated Tuesday, May 25th at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd, Pearland, Texas. He will be carried to his final resting place by his 5 grandsons Stephen, Jared, Cody, Justin, Clayton, and nephew Tommy Wayne.
Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ragland Caregivers, Essential Hospice and Halo Hospice for their compassionate, loving care for our Dad.
