Rosa Razo, age 72 of Galveston, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 2, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando & Francisca (Argueta) Morales; husband, Juan C. Razo; and grandson, Charlie O’Quinn. She is survived by her sons, Charlie O’Quinn, Joe Marshman, and Roy Marshman; daughters, Alma Pierson and Rosa Martha; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of many other family and friends.
Rosa was born on December 1, 1936 in Portland, Oregon and spent her early years in Monterey, Mexico. She returned to the United States from Mexico to pursue a better life and worked extremely hard, self-teaching herself along the way, to help raise her family and provide the best for them too. Rosa worked in the home healthcare profession for the last thirty years. She enjoyed being of service and always put others before herself. She adored her grandchildren, helping to raise most of them, and they affectionately called her “Grandma”. Rosa always loved traveling to Mexico to visit her friends and recently returned from a month long tour of Europe. Her fond memory will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation for Rosa will be on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service is on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. Father Charles E. Lynch will be officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland.
