Obituary of Paul " Pauly" Anthony Diaz

Paul Diaz, 20, passed away July 16, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Aubrey Edwards. Left to cherish his memory are his father; Paul E. Diaz, mother; Whitney Tee Strickland, paternal grandparents; Sylvia and Juan “Jesse” Diaz, maternal grandmother; Wendy Edwards, daughter; Kalena Diaz, brothers; Jordan Vargas and Jaxon Vargas, and a host of many other family and friends. Paul Anthony Diaz was born on November 29, 2000 in Pasadena, Texas to Paul Elwood Diaz and Whitney Strickland. After his parents separated Pauly, as he was affectionately known, stayed to be raised by his paternal grandparents, Sylvia and Jesse Diaz, along with his dad. Pauly lived his twenty short years in Morgan’s Point Texas. He attended LaPorte Schools and graduated in the class of 2019. Pauly was blessed with a heart of gold. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. Good natured, respectful, and loving to all who knew him. He never said a bad word about anyone, he had a beautiful soul. During his senior year of high school, he met the love of his life, Liberty Fonseca. Pauly fell head over heels in love. Soon after graduating, Liberty gave birth to a beautiful girl, Kalena. Kalena was Pauly’s pride and joy. We are so happy he got to experience the one thing that truly makes us human, being a loving parent. Pauly loved spending time with his dad, who was also his best friend. He loved watching movies, attending concerts, and eating sushi. Pauly also loved spending time with his grandma Sylvia. He Loved her cooking, especially her Mexican Rice. He also said his grandpa Jesse made the best BBQ burgers, ribs, chicken, and brisket. Our boy passed away July 16th in his sleep. It was raining and thundering outside when Our Lord called him home. We are heartbroken with grief, but we know Our Lord has a plan for us. We will one day be reunited with our beloved Pauly in heaven. Services for Pauly are, Visitation: Wednesday July 21st 6-8 pm in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel 201 S 3rd St. LaPorte. Memorial Mass: Thursday July 22nd 10:00 am St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 816 Park St. LaPorte TX.
