Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Christine Ward, 45, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ching-I and Lu-Ying Chen; loving husband, of 12 years, Robert J. Ward, Jr.; sons Aaron Chen Ward, Robert “Robbie” J. Ward III; brother Brian Chen; cousin Jim Hsieh; sister-in-law Doreen Ward, and a host of other dear family and friends. Christine was a loving daughter, wife, and mother who cherished time with her family above anything else. Christine graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Ming Chuan University. She received her MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Houston. She also became a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Christine had an exceptional career, spanning more than 19 years, in Import/Export and trade compliance. She was employed for the past eight years as a Trade Compliance Specialist for TechnipFMC. Christine was fully fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese, and she extremely enjoyed being able to teach her son Aaron these languages. Christine and her family loved visiting Vietnamese restaurants for Pho soup. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, and her fried rice was the family favorite. Christine highly valued going with her family to the Taiwanese culture center for various events. She loved music, playing the piano, and especially dancing with her husband as well as practicing yoga. Christine and Robert’s first dance performance was the Argentine Tango at the Taiwanese-Houston Heritage Society. They enjoyed traveling and dancing together in Paris, France, Oslo, Norway, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Christine genuinely loved traveling. She enjoyed visiting family and friends in Taiwan (with Taroko gourge visits being her favorite), Tokyo, Japan, going to Mexico on cruise ships, visiting Disney Land, and sightseeing in Hollywood. She visited many places during her lifetime with her family including Athens and Santorini Greece, Cinque Terre, Italy, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Bali, Indonesia (the latter trip included her parents in addition to her husband). Having visited so many places around the world, Christine often thought some of her nicest experiences were the simple walks and picnics in the park and attending church and church events with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.”
