She grew up on the North side of Houston, where she attended Burbank elementary school and jr. high before graduating from Jefferson Davis High school. Charlene met the love of her life, Rayburn, at the South Main skating rink. They would go on to raise a wonderful family together. Charlene and Rayburn were faithful members of First United Methodist Church in Pearland, Texas. Charlene was a devout Christian, who answered the call to service as often as she could. She and Rayburn often worked at the church, and Charlene would organize all the congregation prayer requests. Charlene never missed a Senior dance. Rayburn and she had many dear friends in their dancing community. Charlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren she loved nothing more than taking care of them. She loved nothing more than taking care of children. Charlene was the assistant director of Circle K daycare, and childcare was truly her calling. Taking care of her grandchildren was a special joy in her life. Charlene will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
