Charlene Emma Alderman, 86, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 following a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Elizabeth Koppe; and loving husband, of 57 years, Lawrence Alderman. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Lawrence Alderman, Doug Alderman, Scott Alderman; daughter Susan Alderman; brother David Koppe; sisters Charlotte Koppe, Elizabeth Koppe; and grandchildren Michael, Sean, Tim, Antron; five great grandchildren, and a host of other dear family and friends. Charlene was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and nurse. She was married to her beloved partner, L.A., for a wonderful 57 years. Together, they raised 4 children, all of whom thought she was the best mother God ever created. Charlene became a Registered Nurse in 1972, and began a long, successful, and passionate career in healthcare. She created the Houston VA Oncology Clinic, which continues to treat thousands of patients annually. Charlene worked the oncology clinic for 15 years, infusing thousands of doses of chemotherapy without a single infusion mishap. The American Cancer Society recognized her dedication and selfless devotion to her patients by naming her the Nurse of the Year. Charlene will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
