Obituary
Obituary of Marie Baker
Please share a memory of Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen “Marie” Baker’s sun rose on December 14, 1925, and her sun set on August 9, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Rosa Via; brothers Frank Via, Leroy Via; and son-in-law Clay Fenwick. Left to cherish Marie’s memory are her son Ronnie Livingston; daughters Meledy Fenwick, Becky Baker and husband, Rob; stepson J.D. Baker and wife, Sherri; grandchildren Malorie Gardner and husband, Tayler, Cayla Fenwick; great grandson Slade Gardner, and a host of other dear family and friends.
Marie had a zest for life, loved people and always wanted to take care of others before herself. She was a loving mother who cherished spending time with her family above all else. She enjoyed the outdoors, and she especially loved fishing and gardening. When no one else could catch a fish, she could catch one. She had an unbelievably “green thumb” and could grow just about anything. She had a great sense of humor and was known to be very witty and straightforward, never meeting a stranger. Marie always faced life’s challenges with a positive attitude and without any complaints. Her motto, as far as complaining, was “what good would it do?” She was independent, strong-willed and giving up was never an option. One of Marie’s favorite sayings was “It’s in the Good Lord’s hands,” and that is where she will now be for eternity, in God’s hands. Marie touched many lives and will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever holding a special place in many hearts.
