Norman Addison Thornhill, III, 51 of Friendswood, passed away November 29, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly; sons, Norman “Tanner” Thornhill, and Thomas “Parker” Thornhill; daughters, Alex Thornhill, and Emily Thornhill; parents, Norman and Donna Thornhill; brother, Anthony Thornhill; sisters, Kay Pleasant and husband, Jerry, Suzanne Landry and husband, Cass, and Adrian Thornhill. Norman is also survived by Shelly’s parents, Tom and Linda Long; grandmother, Joan Haarup; and Shelly’s sisters, Wendy Menbeck and husband, Mark, and Penny Weeks and husband, Bill; and a host of many other family and friends.
Norman was a loving father, husband, and friend that lived life to the fullest. He ran with the bulls in Spain, completed the New York marathon, and finished in the Baja 1000. Norman enjoyed vacationing with family and friends. He loved dirt biking, boating, and spending time outdoors with his kids. Norman was also a highly skilled millworker and was known as “the world’s fastest cabinet maker.” He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation for Norman Addison Thornhill III will be held on Thursday evening, December 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited by Father Jim Courville beginning at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. An additional visitation will be held on Friday morning, December 3, 2010 at 10:00 am with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am at Sagemont Church at 11300 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E., Houston, Texas 77089 with Pastor Loren Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thornhill Memorial Fund created by Norman’s friends as a college fund for the Thornhill children by contacting Wells Fargo Bank.
