Obituary of David Lee Pritchett

David Lee Pritchett, 58, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Pritchett; and stepfather, James Stremel. Left to cherish David’s memory are his mother, Doris Stremel; loving wife of 25 years, Rose Pritchett; and daughter, Tiffany Pritchett.
David was born in Denver, Colorado on May 5, 1963. He spent his adolescent years in Albuquerque, NM and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduating, he moved to Houston, TX and received his Professional Engineering license. He continued his education at the University of Houston where he earned a Master’s degree. He practiced engineering for several years in Houston, TX.
David loved his family deeply and cherished traveling with them whenever he could. Some of his favorite destinations included the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe. David enjoyed being able to try the different cuisines from around the world. In his younger years, David enjoyed outdoor sports, especially boating. He loved the water and held boating, sailing, and diving certifications. David also enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He always had a love for the arts and he was the biggest supporter of his daughter’s creative passions. As he got older, David painted a lot in acrylics himself. David was a music lover, as well. Some of his favorite genres included classic rock and country. David enjoyed watching movies, television, and attending the theater immensely. Some of his family’s fondest memories with him were having movie marathons at home, as well as going out to the Alley Theater. David was a dog lover and had one as a pet all his life. His most recent pup’s name is ‘Brody’ and during David’s prolonged illness, they spent a lot of time together on the couch watching TV. David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for David will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 – 10:00 am. The memorial will follow at 10:00 am.
