Dear Jodeen and Family,
We are so saddened at Bill’s passing but have many fond memories of him and your family. We loved his wonderful sense of humor and the twinkle in his eyes. Everyone was aware that he was a wonderful Christian man. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry for you, Jodeen, and all Brother Bill’s family. Getting a smile and hug from the two of you in greeting at church helped us so much when we lost our Jennifer. I can only keep praising our Lord for the victory over death we have been given. Seeing those who have gone on before us will be a most glorious day, but separation still hurts so much now. We pray we will be of some small measure of comfort to you and yours as Brother Bill and you were and are to us. Please know we will miss Brother Bill until we meet again some sweet day. The love of our Lord, your family and congregation will sustain you. In His will and love,

To Jodeen and all the rest of you dear sweet friends,
I am so very sorry that Bill has left our presence. I am so sad for you…and want you to know how much I will be missing his infectious, happy smile, and those twinkling eyes. You couldn’t help but be happy around him! I love you all so much and you all are in my thoughts and prayers…and have been…I pray that you feel our Lord’s arms wrapped around you, and I look forward to wrapping mine around you as well. One thing we know…he is in the presence of God, experiencing joys we cannot even imagine!
With so much love,
Elaine (and the girls)

I worked for Bill for almost 20 years and he was the greatest boss. I learned so much from him and will never forget him, his honesty, knowledge, and caring nature. He was so proud of his family and I can truly say his family always came first. He was truly a great man and I feel blessed that I had him as a boss, teacher and friend.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Aven’s passing. Growing up with Karen and the other kids, I always thought of him as my family’s personal elder. I remember asking him when I was about 14 years old if it would be all right for me to go to a Beach Boys concert on Wednesday night, and miss Bible class. (I had entered a contest for the tickets and never dreamed I’d actually win.) When he gave me the broadest smile and said, “I think that would be OK,” my heart was put totally at ease. If Mr. Aven said it was OK, that was good enough for me! It was so evident, even to a gawky teen like me, that Mr. Aven was a man after God’s own heart. I’m so glad I had the chance to know him.

Jodeen,
I’m so sorry to hear about Bill’s passing away. He was such an inspiration to Bob and me and all our kids. I can certainly empathize with you since it’s been almost two years since we lost Bob to his battle with cancer.
All my love and sympathy.

To Sweetie and all the family:
Your whole family is so special to us. We will certainly miss Poppy’s smile and greeting that we received every time we saw him. We know that he is happy, but that won’t make any of us miss him less.
Love you much,
Ron, Gereta and all our kids
